There is no getting away from it. Sightseeing in Barcelona is expensive. But there are many ways in which residents can get hold of cheaper tickets or even visit certain places.
One of these ways is through the Gaudir Més initiative. It’s completely free, easy to join (for residents, at least) and unlocks a world of sightseeing possibilities for the family on a budget.
The Gaudir Més initiative, which can be translated as ‘Enjoy More’ in Catalan, was set up by the Barcelona City Council in 2022, in order to encourage residents to learn more about the culture and history of the city.
You can enrol in the Gaudir Més card by making an appointment with the Oficina de Atención Ciudadana by calling 010 or by filling in a form online. In order to enrol, you must bring along proof of your residency status and identity document.
There is no physical card associated with the programme. Once registered, you will simply receive a slip of paper that confirms you are now part of the Gaudir Més community. To make use of your registration, simply bring along your identity document and they will check that you are on the system.
